Located in the Russian River Valley, you’ll find one of the best tasting rooms in Sonoma County. Rodney Strong Vineyards has been around for decades and has a reputation for excellence. Their wines are found in the top restaurants all over the country. On your way to the Tasting Room, you’ll travel up a grand staircase past gardens and fountains.
Inside you’ll belly up to the bar for some sampling, and take a a look around their tasteful gift shop.
What we love about Rodney Strong is the wraparound self-guided tour where you sip your wine and simultaneously witness where all the action happens, as well as appreciate a great view.
On the self-guided tour, you’ll also learn about the different wine regions in northern Sonoma County, including the Alexander Valley, Chalk Hill, and the Russian River Valley, and why their soils are so different.
Large Oak Casks for Blending (smaller barrels are used for aging)
Stainless Steel Tanks used for Fermenting and Blending
At the end of the self-guided tour, you’ll notice the cabinets full of accolades and awards.
If you seek live music, Rodney Strong has a very popular Summer Concert Series that began in 2004. Recent performers have included Michael MacDonald, guitarist Ottmar Leibert, trumpeter Chris Botti, Kenny Loggins, and Chris Isaak. For a complete schedule of Summer Concert Events, go here.
