It is spring in the Wine Country, and the blossoms are on the trees. The hills are a brilliant green, and the grapevines are budding. The sun is a bit softer this time of year, and it casts a splendid light on the buildings in Sonoma. Take a walk with me and Mr. WCC.
The south side has a great little corridor on West Napa Street:
Turn the corner to the east side of the Plaza and stroll down First Street East, where you’ll find the Sebastiani Theatre, the Ledson Hotel where they serve Ledson Wines, the famous Basque Boulangerie Cafe, the Plaza Bistro, and our favorite Wine Shop.
The south east corner
The Ledson Hotel exterior
Wine tasting patio at the Ledson Hotel
The Sebastiani Theatre
Murphy’s Pub (down a nifty corridor behind the Basque Cafe)
Wall mural down a second corridor
La Salette garden patio
Views of the trees along First Street East:
Turn to the north side of the square onto West Spain Street where you’ll find the Sonoma Cheese Factory, the Swiss Hotel, and my favorite decor stop: Summer Vine.
Cross First Street West and you’ll find the famous restaurant the Girl and the Fig.
Stroll down First Street West and you’ll see the Sunflower Cafe in a Historic Landmark (Salvadore Vallejo’s home) with their beautiful outdoor garden patio in the rear.
Return to the south west side of West Napa Street to find these great shops and scenes.
Next door, visit our favorite Martini and Oyster Bar (see this post).
After dining, we caught a few more scenes of Sonoma as the sun was setting.
The ride home included a crescent moon, smiling at us:
